Spalted Woodworks didn't start in a workshop. It started around a campfire somewhere in the Idaho mountains, with nothing but a pocket knife, a stick, and way too much time to think. Today, I I call it Spalted Woodworks — a Treasure Valley craft studio dedicated to handmade wooden goods built from found and repurposed wood right here in Idaho.

Spalted Woodworks is a Treasure Valley-based craft workshop dedicated to the art of handmade wooden goods — because plastic spatulas are a crime and you deserve better. Every piece — from kitchen utensils to everyday functional items — is carefully shaped by hand using found and repurposed wood sourced right here in Idaho. We dig through fallen branches, salvaged timber, and lumber that most people would walk right past, and we think, yeah, that's a spatula. We believe beautiful things shouldn't come at the earth's expense. That's why each spoon, spatula, cutting board, and serving piece begins as wood with a story. The natural spalting, grain, and character of each piece guide the process, ensuring that no two items are ever quite the same — much like the people who end up loving them. No factories. No assembly lines. No sad, identical widgets tumbling off a conveyor belt. Just two hands, some good wood, and a stubborn belief that the tools you cook with should be as interesting as the meals you make. Rooted in the Treasure Valley and shaped by its landscape, Spalted Woodworks brings warmth, intention, and a genuine human touch to the tools you reach for every day. Your kitchen called. It wants an upgrade.
